She'll kill me one day for this, but I CAN.NOT forget this.
Tonight after bath time, we were doing our normal routine in Cheyanne's room. I had dressed Jameson and laid him on the floor because he loves to get his night wiggles out while staring at everything on Chey's walls. He stays entranced by her name letters. Chey was running around naked because I always take my time dressing her in jammies, mostly because she makes me chase her little naked butt around trying to get clothes on her. Jameson was making his normal squeaks and groans. Cheyanne said "Mommy booby please. Baby brother Jameson maybe hungry." I made her repeat it to make sure I heard her right. Yep. I laughed and said "Oh, he's hungry? Ok, Mommy will feed him in a minute" and kept folding the clothes I was working on. Apparently she wasn't happy with my answer because I looked over and she was pulling up her shirt and pinching her boob heading down to Jameson. BAHHAHAA! It was all I could do not to bust out laughing. Yes I did intervene and told her I'd feed him because Mommy's are supposed to feed babies. HA! At least she is concerned about her little brother starving. And she's apparently been paying close attention.
I love this silly girl.
Like I said, one day she'll kill me for this story, but its just too good not to get in writing. Ah, my life.

Our Photo shoot
I mentioned a few posts ago that we had pictures done by a new local photographer "Yellow Rose Photography by Stacey." She is building up her portfolio, so she offered seesions for free. Suh-weet.
Cheyanne was in rare form the day of the shoot, thus there are very few pictures of her.
I'm not in love with all of the photos, but some of them are just too cute. Take a look.
Cute right?

Two month update- measurements
Little Man had his two month doctor appointment today. Minus the looming vaccines, I was pretty excited for this appointment because I have been dying to find out how much my boy has grown the last month.
Rechecking his measurements SIX times, the nurse finally settled on the measurements. I knew he had grown, but I did not realize he'd grown quite so much. My 7lbs 7oz- 19 1/2 inch long baby has grown to 13lbs 6oz and 24 inches long! That puts him in the 91st percentile in weight and 80th percentile in height. Uh, no wonder he's in 6 months clothes!!! That's right 6 months. I'm not kidding when I say that he is growing too fast.

Two months
Jameson, slow down! You are two months old and doing things way before you should or so I keep hearing.
Jameson is such a true joy. He may have started out a little fussy but has grown into a very happy, easy going boy. He smiles more than any baby I've ever seen. All I have to do is look at him and he smiles back. It melts my heart every time. The best is times that I least expect it, for instance, if I'm nursing him and realize he's stopped nursing I look down at him and sure enough he's just looking up at me smiling. Its very cute, even at 3am. Maybe not quite as cute at 3am but still pretty dang cute.
Even though I don't seem to have children that like to sleep, his sleep schedule is getting better. Any form of a schedule is very new but right now he sleeps most sound form 8-1:30 then is up to nurse. After that he seems to wake at 3 hours then 2 the rest of the night. I'm trying to figure out how to get him to keep up that first long stretch. So far, no luck. He doesn't actually wake from hunger but more so for comfort. As soon as he latches, he usually falls right back to sleep. If I could get this boy to take a pacifier, I think he would actually sleep longer. So far, 5 different pacifiers have failed me all.
He just began reaching or more appropriately batting at his toys earlier this week. That is totally new and exciting. I love this stage.
That's our boy at two months. I'm so in love with this little face.

He is growing way too fast. He is already practically out of 3 month clothes. Anything with feet has reached its max. We've actually already had to give Auntie T some of his 3 month clothes that he literally grew out of overnight while we visited her. We have his two month appointment on Monday so we'll find out exactly how big this big boy is. I'm predicting topping the charts. As much as this kid eats every two hours, I know that good momma milk is doing something for him.
This month has been pretty fun with lots of firsts. He not only smiles now but laughs too. His little cackle is sweet and makes me laugh. Its not hard to get him to laugh. Let Lola walk by him and he cracks up. He is so interested in watching her. I love that he found her so quickly. I think he has also started to see colors despite the fact that 'they' say that shouldn't happen for awhile. Both of my children seem to see colors early. I remember people being in shock when Cheyanne was so tiny and it was obvious she was interested in certain colors. Jameson is the same way. He will stare at our colorful blanket all day long.

First day of school
I can't believe I'm typing those words already, "first day of school." Granted it is still "pre-school" but it is school all the same.
We enrolled Cheyanne in preschool starting this month at a local church school that came recommended to us. We've been on the waitlist all year but a spot opened up and we jumped on it.
I was (still am) hesitant about Cheyanne being away from me under the supervision of someone else, but I'm so glad that we decided to go for it. I honestly had no idea how she would react to being away from my for 3 hours a day two days a week. I tried to prepare myself for the worst, her screaming and crying, not wanting me to leave. I talked school up all week before her first day. "School is so great!" "Wouldn't it be fun to make a lot of new friends at school?" "Big girls love going to school." I thought I was ready for whatever hardship came from dropping off my baby that first day.
Here we are in the car on our way to school. She was finishing eating her breakfast because of course I was running late.
Here she is outside of her school, ready to go in but not having a clue what we were doing there.
Within 30 seconds of walking into her classroom and washing her hands (which they always do immediately and I love!)… she took off. "Bye Mom!" Seriously, not even a glance up to check and make sure I was still around. Nope. She loved it.
I stayed within two miles of the school the entire 3 hours just in case I got the phone call that she missed me too much and wanted her Momma. My phone never rang. I checked it several times to make sure I had signal because surely my little girl, my shadow for the last 2 1/2 years missed me. I don't think I've ever spent a full 2 hours in Target in my life until that day. I forgot what it was like to shop without a 2 year old with me. Just me and the baby boy, we strolled and looked at practically everything in the store. We "I" grabbed a Starbucks. I sat and actually enjoyed it. I nursed the babe while I sipped my grande macchiato no foam.
11:20pm, I decided to head back to school early to wait in line so Cheyanne wouldn't be waiting for me as the other kids were picked up. I was the first one from her class there waiting in the carpool line. At noon on the dot, her teacher brought her out and I have never been so happy to see that smiling face. She was so happy. Happy to see me and happy about life. She got in the car and told me all about her first day, music class where she got to play the piano and egg shakers, baby dolls which are apparently her favorite thing in the classroom, and the books that they read. She went on and on about how much fun she had. What a relief.
In related news since we'll be continuing her schooling, she collects Box Tops now for her school. Apparently the school gets 10 cents for each turned in, but more importantly, for every 10 she returns, Cheyanne gets to pick a prize from the treasure chest. So, keep your eyes out for Box Tops please. If you find some, send them her way. She's already earned enough for one trip to the treasure chest via my adapted grocery shopping trip. I never noticed how many foods have these things on them, but you know I'll keep an eye out for them now. Anything to make my girl happy.

Missing our other pea in a pod
These two…
….melt my heart
Oh Daddy we miss you around here.
Two peas...
Even this kid does, even though he did sleep through your farewell. Its how he got through it without falling apart, he just slept through it.
He misses you I swear :)
Three is just not as good as four.
And yes, this is the best and only picture I have of me with my littles so far.
We love you Daddy Giant.

Let's catch up
So much has changed here in our house in the last 7 weeks. I would say that it has been a whirlwind but I think that doesn't even do us justice.
- We've added a child to "us".
- He has grown soo fast (like 3+ pounds by one month fast!).
- We celebrated his first "holiday" Valentine's Day.
- The Giant's come and gone and come around the world a few times and then gone again.
- Jameson has had a lot of firsts: first trip to the aquarium (one of Chey's favorite places), first trip to Target, first time out for a meal as a family of four and no one fell apart woot woot!
- We took a 12.hour.car.ride to DC to visit Auntie T and Uncle Jonny. This was Jameson's first big trip and he did amazing in the car.
- We bought a new car, a Dodge Durango with a third row and tons more space than our Santa Fe.
- Chey has started preschool and loves it.
- Both babies now have colds. This is one I wish I didn't have as a "catch up." Sick babies are just plain pitiful.
- Despite a cold, Jameson is a smiley happy baby boy. I am so blessed.
Now I have a list of posts that I need to write to catch up. I told you things have been busy, right?!
