Pa-sghetti please

Mmmm well at least that makes two people in this Wood house that love spaghetti. (Actually, even I was a fan tonight- no hell did not just freeze over Mom...).

Apparently it was finger licking good.

And now a pasghetti coma will ensue

I think I may be having to eat spaghetti more often now if it makes Little Miss this happy. There's not much cuter than a baby covered in spaghetti sauce- except maybe a clean baby post spaghetti dinner night.

Good job on dinner tonight Daddy Giant. Again, another hit.

Bed Head

I love bed head. I love it so much I had to document its beauty on her royal cuteness.

I just love it. Don't you?

Buried alive

Hi, remember me? I'm finally starting to break through what was somewhere around 357 boxes and the 249 loads of laundry that have been staring me in the face.

All clothes boxes have been unpacked- only one pile remains unwashed. I'll get to it... eventually. In the mean time, we're loving our new hometown and new digs. With no pictures hung or framed, no remnants of our faces anywhere in la casa, I have no pictures worthy of entering the blog world quite yet. Trust me, I'm working on it. With clothing boxes done, we move on to the decor boxes. That's when the fun begins, right? Or so I believed as I perused Pinterest for ideas.Anyone ever heard of an addiction problem to Pinterest? Maybe not these days but I definitely had a pinterest problem pre-moving pre-buying a house pre-broke bank account. Follow me! Can't I just win the lottery and higher someone to decorate for me? Or even better, can't I have some super awesome interior decorating, Charleston loving friends who would want to take over this whole area for me? Hint Hint Sarah Ireland- I got your email just haven't gotten a chance to respond yet.

We took a day off from house things last week and explored the Charleston Aquarium with Chey. Her first aquarium trip- and it was a success. So much of a success that we ended up getting year passes so we can go anytime we want! Yay for Mommy and daughter dates when Daddy gets deployed. Here a few cute pics from our aquarium adventure.

Notice the crock behind her head.

Next time, maybe we'll get pictures to prove that Momma was along for the ride too. Yeah, that would be fun.

Birthday Girl!!

(First let me say that so far her best birthday present that she has gotten today is INTERNET- of course she hasn't opened any other gifts yet and may really not care at all about internet but her Momma sure does)...

Is it just a Momma thing to be in complete and utter shock that my baby is ONE YEAR OLD today?! Anyone with me on this?

Today is the day. At 6:13pm on this day a year ago, the world changed forever and was blessed with a sweet chunky monkey that makes every day in my world better. Cheyanne is a gift that I could have never dreamed to ask for. I never knew I could be so lucky or so blessed.

She is loving. She is curious. She is stubborn. She is mischievous. She is beautiful. She has the widest smile. She is loud. She is smart. She has eyes that will stop you in your tracks. She gives wet kisses. She has her Daddy's gentleness and her Momma's strong will. She is perfect.

I can't ask for anything more today because everything I want I've got today. Her Daddy is here. We are in our own house. We are together and happy and ready to open presents!

And just to remind of last year on this day- look how tiny she started out as.

Let them eat cake

Yesterday we partaaaayed! After a little "scheduling issue", we decided to change things around and have Cheyanne's FIRST birthday party a bit early. We're back up in Virginia to load the moving truck with our final haul and with family all around we said, "Why not?" So, we threw a pretty fantastic birthday party for Little Miss with all things pink and sprinkles- and it was GLORIOUS! I'll give you the deets later but I thought you might a peek into Miss Cheyanne's first birthday party. My little baby ain't so little anymore. ;) She's almost ONE!

We made it!!

We're a family of 3 again- finally! And we're living this new exciting life in our new hometown of CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA!!!! (That's my official announcement of assignment for all of you climbing the wall in curiousity- HA).

We've closed on the house, painted two living rooms, began random repairs in the home, spent our first night in the house after 4 nights in the base hotel, and began exploring our new city. Oh, and we've come back to VA for a few days to move our stuff in a DITY move. I haven't actually slowed down enough yet to take in whats happening. Thus the MAJOR lack in blogging. Well, that and the fact that we are living without internet right now for at least another week after we return home.

Other things I haven't slowed down to think about yet- my baby is going to be ONE way too soon. The 16th is coming up very fast and I am not ready for this big day yet. Mentally, at least. I had to her party planned but because of some last minute issues (like our trip back to VA to get our furniture) we had to do a last minute change and move it to VA for this weekend. Ahhh! So much to do. No breaks in sight. I'll be cooking and decorating all day tomorrow then celebrating with family and friends on Saturday. I'll hold back the tears for now. I'll fill you in how it all goes later on.

For now, I'll leave a few sneak peak pics. Remember, no furniture or decorations means semi-bland Before/After pictures, so consider these Before the After pictures.
