Thank God

Thank God that we live in a country with the freedom of speech.

Thank God that we have the ability to openly think differently than our neighbors and remain safe.

Thank God that we have a military that fights FOR us, not against us.

Thank God that we are able to partake in open discussions on political and world events and still remain close to friends that differ in opinion.

Thank God that my daughter will grow up in a world in which Osama bin Laden no longer exists.

Thank God that I was able to hold her within a few minutes of news being released that this man of pure evil was destroyed and I breathed easier as I looked into her sweet face.

Thank God he has met his maker and has been judged and will forever be punished more than he ever could have been on earth.

Thank God he is dead.

And, thank God that I know the difference between hate-filled revenge and due justice. I will continue to *patriotically* celebrate that the person solely responsible for the death of thousands of American lives has finally been brought to eternal justice. As an American. As a military wife. As someone that will forever remember what I was doing at the exact moment that that most terrifying September day began. I will celebrate.  And I will do so gladly, without regret or shame.

Unless you've been living under a rock or maybe in a Pakistani compound, you know that this was written in response to the news Osama bin Laden was killed by a team of Navy Seals in Pakistan. If you were unaware, NEWS FLASH! After many opposing and somewhat disturbing posts written on Facebook and in other social media networks, I decided to take to my blog to respond. I make no apologies here on this subject.

Thank God for my blog.

Super famous super baby

Today, Peapod and I went along with Nana and Skipper to a Republican Rally where little Peapod was more popular than the speakers. Just raising her right, my little patriotic Conservative in the making. She was not as impressed with the Bigwigs as the Bigwigs were impressed with her. Ha! I was just impressed she didn't fuss too much. I am such a proud momma.

The fabulous Momma and her fabulous baby

US Congressman Bob Goodlatte

State Senator Ralph Smith

Soon-to-be elected to the House of Delegates Greg Habeeb

VA Governor's wife, the First Lady of Virginia Maureen McDonnell. Cheyanne drooled a little on her...oops! But she was so sweet about it. She is too sweet. Future first lady of the United States anyone?!

Maureen and us- After being passed all around, I think Chey was happier in her Momma's arms- as usual

Governor Bob McDonnell

He sent the Giant a letter last week thanking him for his service. I made sure to thank him for his thank you card ;)

One very proud Nana showing off her g'baby
