Sending you love

my Giant wherever you are, know that your girls love you so much on this Valentine's Day and every other day.

I think we hit the Valentines nail on the head for Chey Chey. Her new slide has got her talking  nonstop today. Just listen. There are more movies to come as soon as they upload.

*Update* I posted a few new videos on the left in "Chey World."

I just couldn't wait to post this one.

Apparently the box was a hit too- a twofer gift. A new slide and a new fort, win win.

A look back to a year ago… crazy how much life has changed in a year and yet it hasn't changed that much at all because yet again, us girls are on our own without our Giant around for Valentine's Day.

Sometimes you just got to laugh

There are some situations that should never be joked on...

But… sometimes a little comedy is just necessary.

I have watched this short clip 5 times now and laughed harder each time. Sick but funny.

10 Month Traveler

What a busy month it has been- for Cheyanne and me.

Its been a big, busy month full of firsts.  I have to say, this has been my favorite month so far for Chey. I feel like I am oozing with pride and love. Ok, lets cut to the memorable details.

Cheyanne-

You are a crawler now! And you've got the red knees and top of your feet to prove it. Despite my constant attempt to keep that beautiful milky skin perfect with leggings, somehow your crawling escapades defeat all of my valiant efforts. Never mind the bruises, bumps, and scrapes that too have made their presence known in this new crawling phase.

Other things you are doing that keep me biting my nails... you love steps. Ah! Yes, that sound you hear is my heart pounding out of my chest only after being defibrillated back to life. ... You pull up on everything. No exaggeration. If it has a ledge, handle, corner, or string within reach above eye level, you pull up on it. This would be the other reason for all of the bruises, bumps, and scrapes that keep appearing on a daily basis.

You rode your first little slide and loved it.

You've been in 5 states via 6 planes and multiple car rides in 10 months. You started clapping on your 10 month birthday.  You also started pointing to things, although that may have been technically the day after you turned 10 months- unclear. You also ate your first week of solid food while in Chicago- no baby food. You love finger foods, mostly because you are just so independent you like to do things yourself. Now that we're home though, you are back on some baby foods.

You love your Momma more and more (as if that was even possible my little buddy). We're attached pretty much 24/7. You are ticklish. And you love to laugh. You have two laughs already. One, is your "sympathy" laugh for when something is fun but maybe its the 20th time someone has blown on your neck and while you still enjoy them giving you attention, I can tell its not the laughter of pure joy anymore. I call that your sympathy laugh. Its short and bursty and sometimes turns into a giggly throaty growl. Your second laugh is your real laugh. It is hearty and loud and the sweetest sound I have ever heard. I work hard for that laugh each and every day.

You are becoming more sociable with new people, but you still remain very hesitant on going to them.  You are much better to just sit and watch them for a while before being approached too quickly or close. And you never ever ever let me leave your sight without some serious distractions. I'm perfectly fine with that. You are more than happy though to flirt from the boundaries of my lap. Your bashfully flirty burrowing of the head gets 'em every time.

Every day you get a little older, a little smarter, and a whole lot cuter. there are days I just want to sit around and kiss those lovable cheeks. And some days, that's exactly what I do.

I love you Sweetheart. Thanks for being mine.

Nap time, Anyone?

This is what I hear when a little someone's getting sleepy. How long can she go?

Turn your volume up

Because somebody has something important to say. Somebody that is only 7.5 months old and has had a very busy last week.

You heard it too right?!! MOMMA!!! I don't even care that she isn't saying it to me. The fact that she is saying it at all, AHH! She skipped all the other things that they say babies say first like "Gaga" or "Baba" or "Dada" and moved straight on to Momma!! And now she says it all day long. My kid rocks! I guess it doesn't really count as her first word, but I'd say that that is a huge step leap towards it. It is still going down in her baby book, for sure.

Not only has she become a talking girl but she has become more mobil by rolling to wherever she wants to go too. Of course, she multitasks by talking and moving at the same time. My smart girl :). She started the crawling stance last week and we're now working on moving arms and legs at the same time. For now, sometimes she gets in the position then rolls to wherever she wants and other times she just rolls.

There is still a lot of *flopping* into the down position, very graceful my little one. She fusses out of frustration until she gets herself back up into a good position. She has scooted backwards a few times but no forward motions yet. For a girl that HATED tummy time just a few short weeks ago, she sure is putting herself on her belly a lot these days. I think crawling is right around the corner. Oh Lordy, what am I in for?! I don't know if I'm quite ready for this one yet. Hopefully just in time to see Daddy (if he gets a short visit to come home *FINGERS CROSSED!) Wouldn't that be a fantastic welcome home present?

On that note, I am constantly in this mental debate of whether to share things like this, not because I don't want you to see. I TOTALLY do! I am more concerned with Hubs and how he feels seeing this. Its a fine line between excitedly sharing making someone happy and unintentionally making someone sad to miss out. I never completely know what to do. He loves seeing her and her accomplishments. But, I know its hard to see her growing up on a screen without actually being here to see it as it happens. However, I think missing out completely would be the worst, so until he tells me its too hard or I feel like its better to show him later, I will continue to post the milestones. Obviously, I can't just ignore the fact that my baby girl is growing up so fast and everything she does is new and exciting. Right?

Good morning Mickey

Mickey overload yet? Not Cheyanne! Never! (Daddy loves to see how much his little girl loves Mickey since he's the one that got her started on it- and he secretly shares the same love- so this is for you Daddy).

I heart babble

While these next two videos might bore some of you to death, to me, they melt my heart. She is going to be quite the talker once she starts. This is what I listen to all day long. (Fair warning: there are a few moments of some seriously loud squealing in these, so if you are at work...umm.. you might want to turn down your speakers a little or someone might think a child is getting beat. You'll see).

And, I know I said before I was going to try and remember to flip the camera around when videoing to save you some chiropractor visits, but I forgot. Sorry, again!)

Couldn't you just eat those little cheeks up? She is the absolute sweetest. Hope you enjoyed these, especially you Hubs.

Hi daddy. It's a slow day.

I have got to remember to record horizontal next time. Sorry for the cricked neck.

Swinging time

Ok, lets try this one again. Reposted with viewable video.

I promise these are happy screams. She has rediscovered her swing recently.

Keep on rollin'

Sorry for the horribly cheesy title. I'm getting uncreative. I just needed something to post this. Cheyanne has been rolling around constantly the last few days. Finally I had my phone close by this time to video it.

Wanna take a bath?

This little girl LOVES baths. Head toward the bathroom. Turn the wall heater on. Get the water flowing. And the squeals will just start. And now as she gotten bigger and grown out of her bath seat, she is learning to play in the tub. Kick kick kick! Splish splash!! The bigger the splash, the better.

Cheyanne found the dog

Today, Peapod first truly noticed Journey and found her as an endless supply of entertainment, which in turn gave us an endless supply of entertainment. Here's video one. Many more to come, whenever my dang internet decides to speed up a little bit. Just try and watch this without cracking up along with her.
