18 Weeks Already

Let's see what our busy Peapod is up to this week.

"Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long and she weighs almost 7 ounces. She's busy flexing her arms and legs- movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. Her blood vessels are visible through her thin skin, and her ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from her head at bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around her nerves, a process that will continue for a year after she's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound." -this is from babycenter.com

"Baby's become amazingly mobile (compared to you, at least), passing the hours yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking, and swallowing. And baby is finally big enough that you'll soon be able to feel her movements."- from thebump.com

Have I told you that we scheduled THE BIG ultrasound for next Thursday- April 29th at 9am? Just in time for Giant's birthday! So excited! He asked me today if we could reschedule it for tomorrow because he doesn't want to wait that long to find out. No, dear, no we have to wait...but it will be worth the extra little wait..!!
