Half way mark- 6 months

This post was written on the 16th, but since my computer was being worked on, I couldn't post it until now.

Ah I was not ready for this this morning. I woke up and checked my email like I do most mornings, and what did I find? My monthly "Hey your baby is growing up faster than you ever dreamed she would and just hold on tight because she's going to be grown before you can blink" email. OK, so it doesn't actually say that but it might as well. Instead, this month's email said "Baby's halfway to her first birthday!". Back up! WHAT?! No, no. My baby was just born last week. Wasn't she? Could that most long glorious day have really been 6 months ago? ::Cue the water works::

 These have been the most memorable 6 months of my life. She has taught me so much, about myself, about motherhood, about my husband, about life in general. There is not a single thing that I would change about this little person straight out of heaven. She melts my heart every time she smiles. She has the most contagious laugh. Curiosity is a constant every single day. And can we say Miss Personality?!

So, lets talk about what this little 6 month old is up to these days.

• rolling over constantly from stomach to back
• still HATES tummy time and has learned to avoid it by the above action of rolling over
• lights up as soon as the Itsy Bitsy Spider song begins
• started eating rice cereal last week (brown rice- made by momma) and she sort of likes it
• does not like leftovers, must only have fresh fresh milk in rice cereal (she knows- even if its scalded)
• weighs in at 17lbs 4oz and is 25 inches long
• does not like the sound of our coffee grinder 
• eyes are much more green than blue these days, although some days I just can't tell
• loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in the morning
• knows Journey's name and will look to find her when asked where she is (the dog)
• bathtime is BY FAR her favorite time of the day
• does not like people up in her face- but who does?
• thinks the bigger the splash the funnier while in the tub, especially when Momma walks away soaked from all of the kicking and splashing
• loves to Qik video chat with her daddy
• laughs when she is startled (usually)
• is in size 3 diapers now
• wears size 6-12 months dependent on what it is. 6-9 months onesies. 12 month dresses. 9-12 month pants. 6-12 month socks. Yeah, she's all over the place
• has four very long hairs on her head that stick out above the rest (like 4 inches farther- seriously) and I play with these 4 hairs on a daily basis. They are too precious.
• Takes two naps a day. One morning around 11am and one afternoon around 2pm
• Still is not sleeping through the night- not even close. She wakes up between 2-3 times a night.
• *talks* and squeals pretty much 90% of the day
• cackles when kissed on the neck- big time ticklish spot
• desperately wants at the tv remote or my cell phone all.the.time.
• gives open mouth kisses to me when she is being funny then laughs her slobbery little head off
• is about to begin swimming classes and hopefully continues to love water...
• chews on her fingers, usually the middle and ring finger, upside down
• has flown to Texas twice already, collecting those air miles like a businessman
• is that kid that would rather have a plain box than any music making singing toy available
• sticks her arms straight out and shakes when she gets really excited or really upset
• sits up all on her own- though I still pad everything around her with pillows just in case
• loves to lunge towards me when sitting up, apparently thinks she can fly
• loves her momma more than ANYBODY else in the whole wide world....unless her daddy is around...
