Day four and still going strong for the month of thankfulness.
Today I could be thankful for quite a list of things. Sunshine. Warm November weather. Comfy slippers. The list goes on. But today, one thing wins.
DAY FOUR.
I am thankful for…
Family members that are willing to drop everything to help us.
As I mentioned last week, my mother in law came and visited us for a week to help out around here and with Cheyanne. When the Giant is away, I tend to put on foggy glasses that only let me see what I can do. I'm not one to ask for help. I'm not one to ever admit when I could use the extra hand. And up until she arrived, I really wasn't sure how much I'd "get done" while she was here to help. I didn't know how Cheyanne would do with someone other than me. I wasn't sure if we'd get caught up shopping and sightseeing instead of being productive. Well, I ended up getting lots done. We both did.
I'm thankful for a mother in law that can be helpful, even after she has been on caretaker role for 3 weeks street already before she came down here. I'm sure she would have been much happier putting her feet up on her couch instead of boarding a plane the day after returning from a week long out-of-town trip to care for her parents. But, she came and never once complained of being tired. The woman has more energy than I do on a daily basis. Cheyanne loved it. Grandma kept her very entertained.
I am thankful for someone like her offering and following through with traveling down and helping without me even asking. Im thankful for the meals that she made and the time I was able to just sit and relax after dinner instead of rushing to clean up and get Chey to bed. I am thankful for the love that my daughter has received from our family. I am thankful for a house that now is starting to look more like a home after her visit- my new drapes and pillows look fantastic!
I didn't realize how nice it would be to have the assistance around here. Who knew that having an extra pair of hands could be so useful? It pays to be thankful.
Thirty days of Thanksgiving:

I love that first picture of her carrying a sleeping Chey. So cute! So glad you guys were able to visit and get lots of stuff done!
